Stanley "Stan" J. Powell (born 19 July 1916 in Risca[1] — died 0 January 1995(1995-01-00) (aged 78) in Southport) was a rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s, '40s and '50s who at club level played rugby union (RU) for Cilfynydd RFC, and at representative level played rugby league (RL) for Wales, and Lancashire, and at club level for St. Helens, Belle Vue Rangers (twice), and Warrington, playing at Fullback, Wing, Centre, Stand-off/Five-eighth, or Scrum-half/Halfback, i.e. number 1, 2 or 5, 3 or 4, 6, or 7.[2]

International honours

Stan Powell won caps for Wales (RL) while at St. Helens against England at Central Park, Wigan during March 1945, and while at Warrington in 1947.[3]
